The Lake

The depth is about 4mtrs at its deepest point, and has an average depth of 2mtrs. The margins are of around 0.50mtr deep. It has a silt bottom with no weed, and benefits from a natural regeneration of the water. There are marginal reeds, and some hard patches sit in the silt.

'The lakeside is lined with Ivy wrapped trees, including Firs, Oaks and Ash, and a pretty stream trickles it’s way around the outskirts'.

At one end of the lake there is a charming stone hut, originating from the 17th century. The hut leads onto an original holding pen, used hundreds of years ago, from which fish were sold.

An old barn oozes the character of the beautiful Normandy area, and stands in the orchard.   A wooded island is located at the far end of the lake, which boasts its own swim. To the rear of the island, there are ideal stalking areas. In warm weather it’s usual to see the Carp queue-up here to bask in the warm shallows, and ‘tease’ the Carp hunter as they display their size and splendour in full clarity!
 

We have a total of 4 double and 2 single well-planned swims; and are allowing a maximum of 6 anglers only, in order to preserve the calm and tranquil atmosphere, and also to allow each angler to have as bigger piece of ‘hunting ground’ as possible, on our 10-acre lake!  Alterations and improvements around the venue in 2008/2009, includes the addition of 4 new stalking swims.

Gravel pathways lead to each of the spacious purpose-built swims, each of which has their own unhooking mat and weigh bar for your use. The majority of our swims also have plenty of 'tree shading', a godsend in hot weather - we’ve seen too many ‘neon carp anglers’ in our time!
 

NB. As all our swims are ‘platform swims’, the use of Rod Pods is necessary. We have a secure, gravelled car park area, which is in view from all the swims. The total property is enclosed. The continual maintenance ensures that a clean tidy environment exists for our guests, with gravelled entrance, car park and paths – No mud wars!
